The "Packaging Pentagon" is a visual reminder of the five main things your packaging partner will need in order to get you the packaging you are looking for. The five sides of the Packaging Pentagon are (in order of importance): Size, Style, Material, Quantity, Printing/Art.
Size – Do you have a size in mind for your box or display? Perhaps your packaging size is dictated by your product and how many you wish to fit in a box or display. In many cases we will need the product in order to create your packaging correctly. Generally, product sizes are not enough to accurately create your packaging as other factors may apply such as shape and weight.
Style – What is your vision for your packaging? Are you looking for a basic box, a fancy box, a display, or an industrial pack-out? Where will your box be seen and utilized? Is this a retail application, an ecommerce application, or an industrial application? The style of packaging you are looking for is where we begin.
Material – Do you have a corrugated material you want to go with? If not, we would be happy to suggest a material option that seems most appropriate given your product, desired size, and style of packaging.
With these first three questions answered, we can move forward with creating you a sample for review. If you are ready to move forward with a quote or production, we will need the last two parts of the Packaging Pentagon.
Quantity – How many do you need? This would be your quote quantity, or range, and an estimate of how many you see your organization purchasing and using.
Printing/Art – What do you envision in the way of branding or decoration on your box or display? If you envision photo quality art, that will need to be printed by way of a lithographic label applied to the corrugated substrate. If you can see your message being conveyed by using positive or reverse out printing in 3 colors or less then your project may be better suited for direct printing on the corrugated substrate. This is just a very simplistic look at art. Whatever your vision, we can bring it to life.
